Peritoneal Mesothelioma is the name given to the cancer that attacks.........

Peritoneal Mesothelioma is the name given to the cancer that attacks the lining of the abdomen. This disease is sometimes referred to as diffuse peritoneal mesothelioma, and this is where the cancer has spread out. The symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include: abdominal pains and weakness; weight loss; nausea; loss off appetite; abdominal swelling; bowel obstruction. Mesothelioma patients often demonstrate symptoms such as persistent coughing that resemble less serious illnesses, which can make diagnosis difficult. Peritoneal mesothelioma accounts for approximately 25 to 30 percent of mesothelioma diagnoses.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a disease that affects the lining of the abdomen, or peritoneum. Sometimes doctors refer to this disease as mesothelioma of the peritoneum. Once the cancerous tumors start to grow in the peritoneum, fluid begins to rapidly accumulate in the abdominal area. Symptoms of Peritoneal mesothelioma are closely associated with symptoms of other diseases such as gallbladder problems, hernia or pelvic mass. When a doctor diagnoses peritoneal mesothelioma, usually the tumor has grown to very advanced stages.

Peritoneal mesothelioma, also known as cancer of the peritoneum, is a cancer of the abdominal lining. The disease is not nearly as common as pleural mesothelioma. Peritoneal Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that affects the peritoneum of the human abdominal cavity. Hence, this medical condition is also called as abdominal mesothelioma.
